Lutron motorized shades are priced according to the selected shade system, window dimensions, fabric, mounting details, power and controls. Electric FX provides a project-specific quote for Toronto and GTA homes after reviewing those details. A single per-window figure would not reliably describe every custom installation.
For a useful budget, separate the shade equipment from the supporting work. Your installed price may include measuring, mounting, power provisions, control equipment, programming and demonstration. Compare proposals using the same window schedule and functions.
Window sizes and quantities
Start with a list of the windows you want covered. Note the room, approximate width and height, and whether each opening needs one shade or a more involved arrangement.
Final measurements are taken before ordering. The mounting opening and clearances matter as well as the glass dimensions. Wide spans, tall openings and unusual window shapes can require a different product solution, so a standard-sized bedroom window should not be used to price an entire residence.
Fabric selection and the result you want
Explain the purpose in each room: reducing glare, maintaining daytime views, adding privacy or limiting light for sleep. Compare fabric samples in the actual space where possible, with attention to changing daylight and evening conditions.
Blackout fabric blocks light through the fabric, but light can still enter around the installation. If the goal is a darker room, mounting overlap, gaps and any suitable channels or other treatments should be considered with the fabric. Privacy also depends on the selected material and lighting conditions.
Power and control are separate choices
A shade can use wired power and still communicate wirelessly. Lutron offers different power and communication arrangements across its shading families, so “wireless shade” does not always mean “battery-powered shade.”
Battery-powered equipment can be practical where walls are already finished. Plan access for battery replacement. Wired power is worth considering during renovation, when cable routes and suitable power-supply locations can be coordinated.
Ask us to identify the exact product and power option in the quote. Future conversion should not be assumed; the model and ordering requirements determine what is possible.
Mounting and finished appearance
An inside mount keeps the shade within the opening, while an outside mount may extend beyond it. Recess depth, trim, handles and nearby doors affect the choice.
Fascias, exposed hardware and recessed pockets produce different finishes and can change the equipment or coordination required. If the architect or millwork contractor is creating a pocket, confirm its dimensions against the selected shade before construction.
Two fabric functions may require two separate shades. Space and compatibility need to be established rather than assuming a dual arrangement will fit an existing recess.
App control, remotes and lighting integration
Decide whether you want individual window control, grouped room control, schedules or scenes shared with lighting. That determines the controls and system equipment to review.
An existing Lutron installation should be checked by model. Compatible shade equipment does not mean every hub or processor provides every requested function. The proposal should name the controls and describe what setup is included.
| Quote component | Detail to compare |
|---|---|
| Shades | Product family, quantities, dimensions and fabric selections. |
| Mounting | Hardware, fascia or pocket coordination and installation access. |
| Power | Battery equipment or wired provisions and power supplies. |
| Controls | Remotes, hub or processor requirements and requested functions. |
| Completion | Installation, limits, programming, demonstration and any exclusions. |
Build a budget around your priorities
If you are planning the project in stages, identify the rooms where privacy or glare control matters most. We can review a first phase while considering the eventual system, rather than selecting incompatible equipment separately.
Send photos, approximate dimensions, room priorities and details of existing controls. Tell us whether construction is underway. Fabric and equipment selections are confirmed before ordering, and the written quote establishes the agreed scope.
