Electrical supply and final connections for new hot tubs, replacement spas and swim spas. We review the selected model and the existing installation before defining the work.

  • Dedicated circuits and protective devices suited to the equipment
  • Disconnect and spa-panel placement
  • Wiring routes, outdoor enclosures and equipment access
  • Review of existing wiring when replacing or relocating a tub
02 · Swimming pools

Pool equipment wiring.

Electrical installation for in-ground and above-ground pool equipment, coordinated with your pool contractor before excavation, decking and landscaping are finished.

  • Pool pumps, filtration and circulation equipment
  • Electrical connections for pool heaters and heat pumps
  • Pool lighting, controls and compatible automation
  • Equipment-area power, bonding and grounding requirements
03 · Steam showers

Steam shower electrical installation.

Electrical installation for steam generators and compatible shower controls. We work with your plumber, bathroom contractor and supplier to coordinate the electrical side of the system.

  • Steam-generator circuits and connections
  • Controls and manufacturer-specified control wiring
  • Accessible equipment locations planned before enclosure
  • Coordination with lighting, ventilation and other bathroom loads
04 · Saunas

Sauna heater wiring.

Electrical connections for indoor and outdoor electric saunas, including traditional electric heaters and infrared units. The exact model determines the supply and control requirements.

  • Heater or sauna-unit power supply
  • Compatible controllers, sensors and control wiring
  • Suitable lighting and accessory connections
  • Coordination of cable routes, heater locations and service access
Before you order equipment

Does your home
have the capacity?

Heating equipment and pumps can add significant electrical demand. A free breaker space alone does not confirm that your service can support the installation.

We assess the equipment specifications, existing loads, panel condition and wiring route, then explain the options for your home.

Existing service

Start with an assessment

Review your main service, panel and planned equipment together, including other large loads such as EV charging, electric heating and future renovations.

Distribution

Plan practical connections

Consider circuit routing, equipment locations, available breaker space and whether a suitable subpanel would simplify the installation. A subpanel does not increase the home’s service capacity.

When more power is needed

Explain the upgrade options

If the assessment identifies a capacity issue, we can discuss appropriate service and panel upgrades and the coordination involved.

Whole-project planning

Look beyond one appliance

Plan for the equipment you are installing now and the additions you may want later, with a clear electrical scope before work begins.

Safety built into the plan

The details matter
around water and heat.

Appropriate protection

We select circuits, disconnects and protective devices for the equipment and applicable requirements, including GFCI protection where required. Protection is determined for each installation.

Grounding & bonding

Pool and hot tub installations have specific grounding and bonding requirements. We coordinate these details with the pool or spa installer early in the project.

Suitable equipment & locations

Equipment approval, manufacturer instructions, moisture and temperature exposure, access and required clearances all inform the installation plan.

For homeowner guidance, see the Electrical Safety Authority’s pool and hot tub safety advice. The electrical layout and requirements are confirmed for your specific project.

A coordinated project

Bring us in
before the finishes.

Early planning helps avoid reopening walls, lifting new decking or changing an equipment layout after installation has started.

We define the electrical work and coordinate its timing with the other trades. Equipment supply, excavation, gas, plumbing, waterproofing and finish restoration are clarified in the project scope.

  • Equipment selected with the electrical in mindShare the make, model, installation manual and electrical nameplate information before ordering or scheduling delivery.
  • Routes and access agreed earlyReview cable paths, trenching responsibilities, equipment access and the sequence for closing walls or completing landscaping.
  • ESA coordinationWe handle required ESA notifications and coordinate the applicable inspection or review stages for our electrical work. We provide the Certificate of Acceptance when issued.
  • Clear handoverWe label the new circuits, identify the relevant disconnects and review normal controls and manufacturer care instructions with you.

Common questions

Your electrical installation
questions, answered.

Do I need a service upgrade for a hot tub, pool, sauna or steam shower?

Not every installation needs a service upgrade. It depends on the equipment’s electrical demand, the existing loads and the capacity of your service. We assess these factors before recommending additional circuits, distribution changes or an upgrade.

Can you connect equipment I have already purchased?

Yes, subject to its approval for use in Ontario and suitability for the proposed installation. Send us the model, electrical specifications and installation instructions so we can review the requirements before scheduling.

Can you reuse the wiring from my old hot tub or pool equipment?

Possibly, but we need to check its condition, size, protection and suitability for the replacement equipment. A new model may have different requirements even if it appears similar to the old one.

Does this work need an ESA permit?

Most new electrical installations and alterations require an ESA notification, often called an electrical permit. We confirm the requirements and handle the notification for our work. Building and pool-enclosure approvals are separate. Learn more about ESA notifications and inspections.

Do you install the steam shower plumbing or build the sauna?

Our scope is the electrical installation. We coordinate with the supplier, plumber, builder and other trades responsible for the enclosure, equipment placement, water connections, ventilation and finishes.

Can pool or spa lighting be included?

Yes. We can include suitable pool, spa and surrounding exterior lighting in the electrical plan. Equipment selection and placement must suit the location, with controls coordinated for convenient use. For the rest of your backyard, explore our landscape lighting design and installation.

Can you wire a replacement pool pump or pool heat pump?

Yes. We review the replacement equipment’s supply, protection and control requirements before connecting it. This includes variable-speed pumps and pool heat pumps. Existing wiring may be reusable, but a replacement unit is not automatically a direct electrical swap. Share the model information so we can identify any changes before installation day.

Are electric saunas, infrared saunas and steam showers connected the same way?

No. Each system has its own equipment and installation requirements. We review the heater, infrared unit or steam generator and its compatible controls, then plan the electrical connections for that specific model. The supplier’s installation manual is an important part of the review.

Can you investigate a tripping breaker or loss of power?

Yes. We assess issues such as repeated GFCI or breaker trips, loss of power, damaged outdoor wiring and deteriorated electrical connections. We explain whether the problem is in the electrical installation or needs the equipment manufacturer’s service team. Stop using equipment with a suspected electrical fault rather than repeatedly resetting it, and arrange an electrical service call.

What should I send for an estimate?

Send your address, equipment make and model, installation manual if available, photos of the existing panel exterior and labels, photos of the proposed location, and your target schedule. Please do not remove panel covers to take photos.
