Electrical troubleshooting and repairs

Small problems.
Careful attention.

You do not need a renovation planned to call Electric FX. From a single outlet that has stopped working to an intermittent problem affecting several rooms, tell us what you have noticed and we will help arrange the right visit.

Outlets and switches

Assessment of outlets that no longer work, loose receptacles and switches that operate inconsistently. We investigate the affected device and its connections before recommending the repair.

Breaker and circuit issues

Troubleshooting for recurring breaker trips, GFCI outlets that will not reset and circuits that lose power. The aim is to identify the problem and explain the appropriate corrective work.

Lighting and dimmers

Help with flickering lights, failed fixtures and dimmers that do not perform as expected. Tell us whether the issue began after a bulb, fixture or control was changed.

Partial power loss

Investigation when a room, group of outlets or part of your property loses power. Let us know which areas are affected and whether the problem is constant or intermittent.

Small electrical jobs

Have a fixture to replace or a list of switches and outlets needing attention? Share the complete list when booking so we can discuss the scope and plan the appointment.

Lighting controls

Support for existing lighting controls and planned changes to how your rooms operate. For a larger control-system project, explore our Lutron lighting solutions.

Clear communication

Know what
comes next.

We start by understanding the problem, explain the applicable service-call charges and assess the work needed on site.

If additional time, materials or a separate installation is required, we discuss the next steps with you before proceeding.

  1. 1. Tell us what is happening

Share the property location, affected equipment and when the issue started. Mention whether you need a scheduled visit or urgent help.

  2. 2. Confirm the visit

We confirm availability, the appropriate call type and the applicable charges before arranging the appointment.

  3. 3. Assess and resolve

We investigate the issue and explain the findings. Where the repair requires parts or further work, we outline a clear plan.

Service calls across Toronto

For your home.
For your property.

We help homeowners, condo owners, landlords and businesses arrange electrical repairs in Toronto and the GTA. Whether you are dealing with a problem in an older house or coordinating access to a commercial unit, the details you provide help us prepare.

For condos and managed properties, please mention building access requirements, permitted work hours and who can approve the work. For rental properties, provide a contact for entry and let us know how the visit should be coordinated with the occupant.

A clear next step

Understand what needs attention.

A service call starts with the issue you have reported. We explain the findings and discuss any further work required, so you can make an informed decision about your property.

If the concern extends beyond a repair, we can discuss an electrical safety assessment, a service or panel upgrade, or electrical work for a residential renovation.

Serving Toronto, the GTA, Simcoe County, and Muskoka. Contact us with your location to confirm appointment availability.

Before you book

Good questions.
Clear answers.

What is the difference between after-hours and emergency service?

After-hours refers to when the visit takes place. Emergency service refers to the urgency of the problem and may be needed at any time of day. We confirm the appropriate call type and charges with you when you contact us.

How much does a service call cost?

Charges depend on the type of call and the work required. Contact us for the current rate, included labour time and any applicable after-hours or emergency charges. Materials and additional work are discussed separately.

Can every problem be repaired during the first visit?

Some issues can be resolved during the service call. Others require replacement parts, additional investigation or a separate installation. We explain what we find and what is needed to complete the work.

What information should I have ready?

Your address, contact number and a brief description of the issue are a useful starting point. Photos of the outside of the affected equipment can also help. There is no need to remove electrical covers.

Do you handle larger electrical projects?

Yes. For renovations, service upgrades or other larger installations, we can arrange a project assessment and a separate quotation. Explore our electrical services.
