When should the electrician become involved?
Ideally, electrical planning begins while drawings, millwork and equipment selections are still being developed. Early involvement helps identify service capacity, control, lighting and coordination requirements before construction.
Can you work directly with my builder or designer?
Yes. Electric FX regularly coordinates with homeowners, builders, designers, architects, millworkers and other trades to resolve electrical details and keep the project moving.
Do you handle ESA permits and inspections?
Electric FX files the required ESA notification for our electrical work and coordinates the applicable inspection process. Acceptance documentation is provided once ESA has accepted the work.
Can you help select fixtures and controls?
We can review technical compatibility, mounting, dimming, control and wiring requirements. Decorative selections are usually made with the homeowner or designer, while we help ensure the chosen products work with the electrical plan.
Can an existing 100A service support the renovation?
It depends on the existing loads and the new equipment being added. We assess the electrical demand and discuss service upgrades or approved load-management options where appropriate.
What affects the cost of renovation electrical work?
The scope of rewiring, access to existing wiring, panel capacity, fixture selections and control systems all affect the price. Send your drawings, project address, equipment list and preferred schedule so we can prepare a project-specific scope and quote. We identify what is included and discuss changes before additional work proceeds.
Can you update wiring in an older Toronto home?
Yes. We assess the existing wiring and distribution equipment alongside your renovation plans, then identify what can remain and what needs replacement. Opening walls during a renovation can be an opportunity to coordinate rewiring, additional circuits and lighting controls before new finishes are installed.
Do you renovate occupied homes?
Yes. The schedule, access, temporary power needs and protection of finished areas are discussed before work begins so disruption can be managed as carefully as possible.
